What do you think about your face?
I came across that website this morning and thought there were some interesting stuff in there. Simon Hogsberg is a photographer who has done a few projects worth looking at.
The first work that caught my attention was: Faces of New York
His own words explain clearly what the project was about: "Once
in a while I see a person on the street who immediately attracts my
attention. I’m fascinated by the appearance of the person and feel a
strong urge to walk over and say hi. I
spent one month, seven hours a day, walking the streets of New York in
search for people who had this effect on me. I found ten, and asked
each of them the same question: What do you think about your face?"
Funny to see what people do randomly in life, just for the sake of it, just to discover, share, try to understand, learn from "others". Did you once ask yourself "What do you think about your face?" I would have trouble to answer that...And you?
The last thing he did was to express "100 metres of existence" by capturing 178 people. 178 photos in the course of 20 days from the same spot: the railroad bridge on Warschauer Strass in Berlin.
To have a closer look, it's here.

It's not in the giving of gifts where the issue lies....
Saint Valentin's day = DO SOMETHING CRAZY!
Of course you gonna think it's not very smart to give people advice on what to do for valentin's day five days after the actual day! Oh well, fair enough but trust me this can actually be done at any given date, whenever you feel like it. Have a look at this video and tell me if you too can do something crazy!
Got any gift ideas for Valentine's Day? We do. from Angel Mission on Vimeo.
I reckon Angel Mission had a fantastic idea here. They made a perfect use of a "famous" day in our calendar and turned it into a matter worth looking at. They found a perfect angle to make us think about our spending and actually show us with simple figures that we can change the world by a 5$ donation.
If you want to have a look at the website and donate 5$, it's here.
I still can't believe that for Valentin's day, in the US:
540 000 000$ is spent on creating cards 6.3 billion dollars is spent by americans on flowers
1 100 000 000$ is spent on chocolate
A total of 17 000 000 000$ is spent by americans in celebration of the Valentin's holiday!

The blogosphere: when, what, where & why?
Interesting insight on the blogosphere, bloggers, content, statistics and a lot more....
Blogging is:
A truly global phenomenon: Technorati tracked blogs in 81 languages in June 2008, and bloggers responded to our survey from 66 countries across six continents.
Here to stay: Bloggers have been at it an average of three years and are collectively creating close to one million posts every day. Blogs have representation in top-10 web site lists across all key categories, and have become integral to the media ecosystem.
Bloggers are:
Not a homogenous group: Personal, professional, and corporate bloggers all have differing goals and cover an average of five topics within each blog.
Savvy and sophisticated: On average, bloggers use five different techniques to drive traffic to their blog. They’re using an average of seven publishing tools on their blog and four distinct metrics for measuring success.
Intensifying their efforts based on positive feedback: Blogging is having an incredibly positive impact on their lives, with bloggers receiving speaking or publishing opportunities, career advancement, and personal satisfactio

When did we start trusting strangers? ;-)
